Yes! That is what I am going to tell you. Who I am? How I ended up here? In this process I shall try to melt the ice of my relationship with you all.

I have planned to talk about

  1. My childhood.
  2. My Education and Job Experience.
  3. My Journey to Dubai and finally to here in Huntsville.

At the end I will share with you my dreams and goals.

I was born in a middle class family. My father was a government servant. I spent my childhood at the suburb of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It was indeed a village at that time. There were no modern amenities. A handful of close knit families in a peaceful place. Vast plain green land to play around and canals & ponds to swim at will. I spent my childhood in that place enjoying the nature.

Everything was going fine till the day when my father died at a very early age. It was a devastating blow for the family. We were three brothers and two sisters. I was a kid of 10 years. My elder brother was two years older than I was.

My mother had the option to leave us behind and start a new life and that was indeed the suggestion from my Grand Father. We the kids were supposed to be raised by our Aunts. My mother took a very bold step and decided to struggle and raise us with whatever property my father left behind. That courageous decision of my mother 30 years back has paved the way for me to reach here. I would like to take this opportunity and invite you all to join me to Congratulate my mother.

My mother gave us a modest living and the best possible education.

I started my education at the age of seven in the local school built by the community. I was admitted at grade two. After completion of 10th grade in the school, I attended the prestigious Notre Dame College. Completing the two years course in college, went to the best technical university in Bangladesh, BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology). Graduated in Electrical & Electronics Engineering in 1982.

Joined the state owned Electric Corporation and served for long 11 years. Meanwhile got married in 1986. The corporation sent me to Norway for higher study in 1989. After completion of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Electric Power Distribution System, went back to the country.

As my family started to grow in size, the expenditure surpassed my income. My wife suggested that I should leave the country and try something else. Got the opportunity soon. In the year 1994 I went to oil reach Arab country United Arab Emirates. Joined Dubai Electricity and Water Authority as Electrical Design Engineer. Within a year, the company started a project of Intergraph’s AM/FM/GIS. I was chosen as one of the team member. Eventually I became the technical leader of the group. Successfully implemented the system. A Company from Atlanta offered me a job and arranged for the H1 Visa. On September 1998 I came to USA. Went to Reno, Nevada to join my first project at Sierra Pacific Power Company. Last March I came to Huntsville and joined Intergraph as a Consultant. On September this year joined Intergraph as an employee.

My Goal

The priority is to give the best education to my daughters. I want to do something positive for the poor people of my country. I believe we are poor, not because we don’t have wealth but because whatever we have are not well managed. To improve the socio-political situation, I feel a strong urge to do something. With that in mind I have started talking to friends. Some twenty friends of mine from around the globe have joined me. We are discussing to find ways and means. Cyber world has opened up new opportunities and hopefully using the same, we will be able to contribute in the development of our country.
